Yearly post I (2013)

1. How would you rate the year on 10? It was awful. Doesn't even climb on the scale.

2. Was this year happier or sadder? 2012 sucked big time because of competition results. 2013 sucked.

3. Best thing to happen in the year? Simran. She's such a sorted mess.

4. The thing you dedicated your time the most? Talks with Aditi.

5. Did you keep up your yearly resolutions? I never make any. I guess i should start now, considering how wayward life presently is.

6. Best musical discovery? I heard more of Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, and Cobain.

7. What you would've done more of? Read more books.

8. What you would've done less of? Wasted less time. Participate more, but i guess i always had my reasons.

9. A date that remains etched? 31st January, night time. She contacted after a hiatus of half a year.

10. What was your biggest achievement? I survived the year without a decent Internet connection.

11. Something you didn't like? Stuff happened and I'm no longer in contact with a friend.

12. What did you want and get? How sorted life would be if you knew what you wanted! This passes as one i guess, wanted my department fest to work well, and yes i was happy at the end of it.

13. What did you want and did not get? The college life i expected, or probably the college itself.

14. Biggest failure? Me, its always me. I'm a shameless critic of myself.

15. What would have made your year more satisfying? Finding people with the same wavelength in the new city. But variety is the spice of life.

16. What was the best book you read in the year? The motorcycle diaries, but even that left more to be desired.

17. Best TV programme? BBC Sherlock. Game of Thrones is a close second. I don't remember Sherlock was this year or the end of last year.

18. Where did most of your money go? Puri sabji at RK.

19. Did you fall in love in 2013? Haha, i'll answer that next year.

20. What did you do on your birthday? Midnight calls, a few hits on the bum. More than a dozen pizzas in the evening.

21. What kept you sane? Music. But i don't know if it made me sane or more delusional, it was that good.

22. What was the best movie you watched? Dazed and Confused. I didn't watch many.

23. The song that defined you and the year? Arriving somewhere, but not here.

24. Lesson you learnt in the year? You can actually miss people. I never thought I would.

I feel like a time traveler. As if it has been decades,centuries of my existence. Don't mistake it as something haughty, or arrogant or something else. I read about things and i feel that i have been there and absorbed the melodies of those bygone years. I had been there with Sinatra, and with Morrison, with Axl Rose and his skin tight jeans. With Sackett, and with Kid Rodelo,I traveled the far blue mountains. Sipping black coffee,living off the grass, i survived the frontier with strong Irish people. Passing history as I walk,I feel the pebbles talking, the big oak smiling gently, laughing at my inquisitiveness. The foreign lands are not so foreign. And the seas have never been so calm. Whispering heartbeat

In a flash,it changed. The London weather gave way to the sunshine of southern France. That's how life was with her. In an instant she could come and twist and break me with a couple of strange upright non romantic letters. For her eyes bore into mine and melted me in an instant. Lazer eyes melted the soft iron core. But i liked it. I liked the way we would go on talking for hours and the world ceased to exist. Our words intermingled,to form poetry and that's how we would talk then. She is pretty. Those big eyelashes. That kajal smudge,for she used it,and i loved it. And strange as it was,i never knew what hit me until she was no longer there. Yes,in a flash it changed. The sunshine gave way to London weather,had me up in bottles of beer   and an unkempt beard. Yearly Post II (2016)

1. How would you rate the year on 10?  Umm, like, a 4-5 maybe? 2. Was this year happier or sadder?  I think happier, because of the fact that I went ahead with everything with the hope of not having any regrets later on. 3. Best thing to happen in the year?  I always answer this as people, not things. I think Anusha, I like how she has quite a positive attitude, but it also pretty realistic about stuff. Conversations with her are pretty amazing! 4. The thing you dedicated your time the most?  Work. 5. Did you keep up your yearly resolutions?  "I never make any.
